Doin' the Math

32 MultiPie'd by 3 Beads = 96 Beads on 96 Stitches = 96 Bead Loaded Hooks

So, with every Row having 576 stitches and 96 of them are beaded that leaves 480 stitches unbeaded.

Doin' Higher Math

96 BLH's MultiPie'd by 4 Rows...80-82-104-106 = 384 BLH's, Stitches and Beads

That means that by the time I finish Row 106 I will have

Beaded 384 Stitches and knitted 1,920 unbeaded stitches in 4 Rows

and with the 20 Rows of Knits, YarnOvers, K2tog's and SSK's

which amounts to 11,520 stitches,

I will have been Beadin' and Knittin' for the better part of

Yes, I know Easter has come and gone, but I wasn't ready with my Easter presentation until now!

TaDa! Happy Belated Bunny Blankee-Sweater Easter!

I'm just so happy to have FINISHED a project!

This Sweet Sweater, Blankee and Bunny will go to my Baby Stash for Future Family Babes!

I'm also counting it as my Wednesday Knit Sweater for this week.

I'm counting The Piggy Pie Sweater as my Wednesday Sweater for this week

and for several weeks to come.

It's CHART 4 and an Increase of Stitches to 576 which at the end of the

Chart will MultiPie into a Kabillion!

It's a good thing that the Wednesday Knitters are on a Two Week Break and the

Piggy Pie Sweater Class has Two Weeks for Chart 4!

Wednesday Knitters Back To Sweaters

Remember Susan B's 'Must Have Cardigan?

It Must Have been sirenly calling her to...Pick Me Pick Me for Wednesday Knitting!

For there it was today!

Isn't it amazing?

Gretchen is Sticking to Steeks and FairIsle Sweater Knitting, but this project is a

Cup Cozy instead of her beginning sweater, the Tea Cozy.

We are all going to get a chance to make this Cup Cozy at our next Concho Valley Knitting Guild meeting!

Gina is so far ahead on her Challenge Sweater that she has switched over to the Piggy Pie Sweater/Shawl!

She declared it a Sweater as it has sleeves.

Works for me since I'm in the same class and will probably claim the same

'Yes It's A Sweater' for next Wednesday.

Actually, I'm claiming the 'Yes It's a Sweater' excuse this week as I am opting out of my

Bagged Challenge Sweater...again... this week to work on this 'Quickie Baby Sweater'.

It goes with the Quickie Blankee made several weeks ago which really needed this

Sweet Sweater to make it a complete layette.

I'll probably have to really complete the layette with the hat and booties.

Oh well....MAYBE next week will be the Challenge Sweaters Unbagging!

Projects....Bags and Baskets FULL of Projects!

All lined up in my Sewing/Knitting Room....at least I'm an Organized WIP Knitter!

Yep! I've decided to GiveIn To StartArexia!

I have finished several projects....like this Red-Black-Tan Bag and the Teal and Green Bag, too!

Both are now holding Just Started Projects!

I've always been a Multi-Tasker, so I've decided to Go With the GetErStarted Urge

that strikes when I see a Yarn and Pattern that is sooooo Irrrresssitble!

Like this AWESOME 'Lovely Leaf Lace' Scarf.

The pattern is from Purl Bee....HERE is the Link.

I'm knitting with Red Heart Soft worsted weight on #7 straights. The lace pattern is a 16 row repeat for 6 times and then it is lots of Stockinette for the length and a repeat of the lace pattern for the other end.

I have a plan to Let Bonda do the Stockinette.

She's sooooo much faster at Stockinette and she likes doing that boring stuff....I like doing the Lace Stuff!

(Bonda is my Knitting Machine....just in case you haven't met her)

The Progressive Lace Scarf is progressing. I'm really lovin' this scarf.

It's a project that keeps me interested with the 6 different lace patterns.

This pattern was designed by our Concho Valley Knitters Guild President,

and presented to the members as a program back in February.

Another FINISHED BAG now holds the Zepher Shawl.

It's knitting right along and is a Grab The Bag and Go Project.

Here's a Just Started Project for SusanB. This is WONDERFUL Wool Chunky Yarn.

It's going to be a Yarn Basket Bag, and will probably be Felted!

In my last post...Yarn and Pansies...Pretty Powerful Stuff...I told ya about the Pie Shawl Class.

We had our first lesson last Thursday, April 7th and this is my START!

I have to tell you though that I did start it TWICE!

I'm PurtyPumped about this Lace Shawl. I'm finished with Part I and ready for this Thursday's Class and Part II....I'm thinkin' there may be all the way to Part Kabillion!

.....until last week when I it feel from the top shelf and hit me on the head!

Wednesday Gals Don't Do Sweaters On Tuesday!!!!

Whew! So glad we met on Tuesday rather than Wednesday!

I was runnin' outta of Clever Excuses for No Sweater Knittin'...Again!

It's alot of Sweater Stress, ya know!

First, I'm so behind on getting the 'HowTo Video'...

you know the one about putting a Round Sleeve in a....YadaYadaYada!

It was fun to make a video and figure out the knittin' process, but then the weather changed,

then I got ScarfArexia, then I had an attack of BondaBag GetErDone Runs,

and then....well....I forget!

TaDa...The ScrapBag Knit-A-Long is FINISHED!

I didn't mean for it to be such A-Long Knit-A-Long!

If I say it really fast it doesn't sound so long!

It's Done and the Four or Five Bonda Scrap Bags that followed are in line for either

Finishin' or Froggin'....I mean it this time!

Speakin' of Scraps....I seem to have lots of Acrylic Worsted Weight leftovers!

Left over from what, I don't know....early years knitting and crocheting

when all I knew was worsted weight.

Now that I've become a bit of a 'Yarn Snob'...I know why they call it Worst...ed!

However, it does make Good N Sturdy Bags!

Anybody Want to Knit On A Sweater? NUPE NUPE NUPE

Yep, we are a group of Wishy Washy Wednesday Knitters!

Just let One of Us SwitchOff the Sweater Challenge and the rest of us are Stuffin' the Sweater in a Bag!

Now, I'm not One to Gossip.....but....I'm not the only One who

Switched and Stuffed The Sweater in favor of Scarf Knitting!

In fact, I was all set to Sweater Knit on Wednesday and I get a message from the

YadaYadaYada WiseOne that says,

"I can't wait to become obsessed with knitting this scarf too.

Bring it to work on for the Wed Knit group (we'll get back to sweaters next week)"

I'm thinkin', "Bless her Heart, Susan needs a break from that Sweater.

What difference will ONE LilOle Scarf make in the Big KnitPicture".

That's my ONE Scarf...right there in the middle.

Progressive/Obsessive Scarf Knitting...

The Progressive Scarf and the Wisdom of 'Yada Yada Yada'

On my last Post...just below this one...I listed mine and Gina's progressions on My Progressive Scarf!

When Gina left, it looked like this...picture above.

I was all happy that we she had fixed my mess by picking up, adding a stitch and covering a missed YO with,

"Nobody will notice the diagonal is off or that the missed YO hole is not a hole but a solid knit stitch."

And the clincher, " Maybe Susan won't notice."

You know what she always says, "If it was me, I'd rip it all and and yada yada yada."

Then I continued with another row...on my own.

Now it looks like this...picture above!!!

Back to a Yarn Cake! What is it with Me and Sock Yarn and Needles Under a Size ~~6 7 8~~ okay 10's!

So what do you do when Varigated Sock Yarn is not workin' for you!

I go diggin' in my Stash for Solid whatever!

I have no clue what this yarn is! No labels and no idea where it came from!

But I LIKE IT!

The Patterns and Stitches are easier to see!

The Needles are BIGGER...#4's...okay, not that much bigger!

I think the yarn is a DK weight...not sure about that...but it sounds good!

And just look at those Diagonals!

And the Feather and Fan....got it all right the first time through the pattern!

I did have to get organized with row counting and the chart.

So organized that I'm working both sections of the scarf at once!

I've patted myself on the back so much in the last couple of days that

I'm considering the Master Knitter Program!

I'm just starting Pattern Stitch #3...The Diamonds!

I hope I haven't broken my arm patting myself on the back.

PS#3 may put me back in my place a stitch or two!

But I LIKE IT!

I've really enjoyed this Knitting, this WhateverYarn, the Solid Colors,

the Larger Needles and the Warm Weather!

There is definately Wisdom in Susan's 'Yada Yada Yada'!

This week Gina and I met for our Weekly Sweater Challenge Knitting Day!

I'm a new member!

Gina and I had a progressive knitting afternoon.

We progressed from one thing to the next which included....

- her progressive lace scarf
- my VooDoo Sweater
- her teapot needlepoint project
- our Tea and Bread Pudding
- my messed up lace scarf
- her row of sweater knitting
- my dropped stitch
- her fixing my dropped stitch
- my missed YO
- her fixing my missed YO
- my finally knitting a whole row

It was a very progressive afternoon!

Two Wednesday Sknitters Speak Knitish!

Sknitters! You have heard of that...right?

As a Texas Linguist and a NoVice Knitter, I sometimes have to make my own sense of knitting terms. Like Steeks, Nupes, Tinks and other foreign words and abbreviations that have me searching through my 'KnitAid' guide.

Those words flow out of the mouths of the 'Other Three' as if they think they are speaking English!

I'm clueless sometimes when the 'Other Three' speak what I call Knitish.

So I just sit and knit and say, "UhHuh and FerSure" and look like a BobbleHead wearin' Stitch Marker earrings!

Sometimes I add to the conversation with a few SuNitWit's. Like Strang, Slippery Stitch, TieOn, Sknitter and S2CPO (slide2chocolate pieces over)!

Pfffffuh! I'm so with the Knitish! NOT!!!

That's why I'm so Glad...Happy...Thankful...and downright Grateful to have SusanB as my Sknitter! She always knows when I don't know! I don't know how she knows I don't know. I guess it could be that my BobbleHead is bobbling UhUh instead of UhHuh! Anyway, she patiently explains that Tink is Knit spelled backwards and what you do when you FrogIt. Huh?

And she just Smiles and explains that Gretchen likes her ~~Steak~~ Steeks knitted to perfection and that I should stop sucking air when she starts Tinking/Frogging the Steeking for the ????? time. Then today, when it was just us Two Sknitters, she patiently pointed out that she had replaced the Nupes with Beads on her Advent Scarf. I must have been Bobbling cause she went on to explain that Nupes were Bumps....made on purpose...and not Knitish for Nope!

Doesn't Susan have a pretty smile? I mean she was SMILEing while wearing that Homespun Scarf I knitted for her Birthday while I snapped photos, rearranged the table, the flowers, the yarn, the presents, ate the chocolate and sipped diet coke.

Finally, she said...smiling..."Do you think we need the fan on?"

It was 80 something today!

Perfect weather for a worsted weight scarf!

Now to the 'Sweater Challenge'. Just look at Susan's gorgeous cables! She's been a bit concerned about posting each week with what she ~~tinks~~ thinks doesn't look like much progress.

So, just to show everyone the Sknitterness of this project, I thought seeing all the Pink ~~TieOns~~ MarkOffs, the Blue ~~Strang~~ Yarn Cakes and the ~~Skins~~ Skeins would give Ya'll an idea of what a Challenge this sweater really is.

I mean why else would you put big X's on the back of a sweater unless you wanted to point out the difficulty of the background Slippery Stitch!

Well, that brings me to SuKnitWitty's Sweater where the Challenge is to fit what was once a Square Sleeve into a Round ArmHole, but is now a Round Sleeve to fit into a Square Arm ~~Slit~~ ~~Slot~~ ~~Spot~~ Thingie!

I know Ya'll understood every word of that Knitish and will be anxiously awaiting the Tutorial.

I'll post that in a few days....I need to consult with my Sknitter Advisor Susan at Seduced by Yarn about the Thingie!

Ooops! I should have said New Challenge Members Project! Seems she lost her head, but found this amazing ~~Strang~~ Yarn which she describes as...

The yarn is custom dyed yarn from Prism Yarns. The name is Wild Stuff Half and contents are rayon, cotton, nylon, kid mohair, bamboo, tencel wool, alpaca, poly.

I am making a scarf and it will be one of a kind as the yarn texture, gauge, etc changes as you go.

Great fun to work with.

Such a perfect color and yarn for a little Sweetheart. Gina is probably way ahead on her 'Challenge Sweater' and will have this Pretty Pink one, a hat and matching mitts done before Valentines Day! Besides being a LOVERLY knitter, she's F A S T!

I knitted it out of Homespun in about Thirty Minutes. Am I F A S T or what? Don't answer that! You know I'm not a Fast Knitter! A quick look in my Knitting WIP's and Yarn Stash is all it takes to see that not only am I not fast, but I'm not much good at another F word....Finishing!

So are you wondering how someone with MultipleFinishArexia can whip out a scarf in thirty minutes?

She's called 'Bonda'! My Bond Knitting Machine!
Of course it will take three or four times that amount of time to crochet the border...but hey that's still alot F A S T E R than my usual speed.

Gosh Yarn It...I Can't Help If I'm A Redneck Knitter!

Gosh Yarn it, I'm always a Day Late and a Dollar Short. I knew it, I just knew I shoulda got my patent papers filed Sooner than Later! I could be makin' UTubulars, autographing Bloggy's, settin' up PayPal and makin' Big Bucks on my new invention....The Yarn Cake Thingie!

I'm a total DoFus...I waited too long, and the reason is, I wanted to give the Yarn World a SureFire Guaranteed High Quality Product! No kiddin'...using the best materials available was a high priority!

I was right on the verge of getting the footwork down where the Thingie would spin smoothly with just a flip of the BigToe! No matter that the Thingie wouldn't SuckUp to the spinner. I had visions of a Classy Silver Adhesive....or what we Texans refer to as Southern Engineering Duct Tape.

Why I even had the foresight to make it completely portable. You never know how long you'll be, and it's important to complete the row before putting down the project. At least that's what I hear! Just think the, SuckUp end has multiple uses....well, you never know!

Now if you are less of a Redneck Knitter than I am, you might like this Fancyarn Cake Thingie!

Or this one for knitting Dish Rags!

It doubles as a Paper Towel holder....like I said...Multipurpose. More Bang for your Buck!

Well, You can imagine my devastation when I read SusanB's post today and saw this UTube video...

Now Susan and I are alot alike in that we both really like neat Knitting Gadgets.

There's just a few differences in our Knitting experiences and things we like.

For instance, she likes Tea and I like Coffee.

She's a lot more Sophisticated about Knitting, and since she's from the North, she doesn't know much about Southern Engineering and Redneck Knitting!
I like to make Something out of Nothing and Susan has KnitPick on Speed Dial!

I guess I'll have to give the Yarn Cake Thingie I made for her to Gina!

I'd make one for Gretchen, but she's from somewhere farther North than Susan, and she's probably already got a Yarn Susan, too!

Ice Road Knitters...NoWay on This Wednesday!

The Icy Snow blew into Texas on Tuesday! Who knew it would stay through Wednesday...and maybe through Thursday!

Good Grief, it was REALLY Cold...like EIGHT Degrees....I know....for some of the USA, that's a Heat Wave.

But here in Texas, we are just not use to the kind of cold that you have to kick a hole in the air, just to get outside!

Where there's a Knittin' Will there's a Way To Knit 4tog....good one huh? And Knit Together we did....Virtually!

The wonder of the InterNet...as long as the BrownOut doesn't hit as I'm posting.

Gretchen kept her Needles Warmed Up with this Smokin' Hot Pink yarn.

She's takin' a break from the Tea Cozy Sweater to make these Mitts for her niece.

Good thing he wasn't in Texas...it was so cold the Groundhogs at the Park were throwing themselves at the Electric Fence.

Here's my Round Sleeve that has to fit onto the Square Sweater.

Good thing I'm not counting on wearing it to stay warm....it's way to Skimpy.

I kicked a hole in the air and threw my stuff out on the Snow and snapped this picture.

I just couldn't help Starting a DishRag or Two or Three! I'm planning a DishRag KnitIn in April while on a Gals Weekend Retreat, and I've got to have some Rags Started for each of the Gals to Learn To Knit. That means that every pair of 7 and 8 size Needles I own or can beg borrow and steal are going to have 38 stitches cast on them. Isn't this a neat dish rag pattern? I found it on Ravelry...it's a Free Pattern and you can find it HERE.

Are you a Self Starter or do you need someone to give you a Poke with Oh, lets say #7 Knitting Needle?

Maybe you are one of those Knitters who has 'MultipleStartArexia'...that is you are 'WayGood' at Starting one project and then Starting another and another and even one more until all your needles are full, your project ~~Bag~~ Bags are overflowing, and there's a project in every room including the laundry room and bathroom. Really, get in a couple of rows at every opportunity!

Meet Gina! She's had MultipleStartArexia ever since I've known her and probably alot longer....I mean it's not something you develop overnight! The thing is, Gina has MultipleNeedlework MSA. That's right...in her ~~Bag~~ Bags are Knitting, Needlepoint, Crochet and a stack of HowTo Books on another Needlework Project or Two she's planning on STARTING!
Having MSA is such a Good Thing! Gina accomplishes so much and is an Expert in Multi-Tasking Needlework. I hope it's contagious!

For this Wednesday Knit FourSome KnitARama, Gina has knitted up a storm on her Challenging Nora's Sweater and then out of the ~~Bag~~ Bags she pulled out ONE of her OTHER Projects...the White Cable and Seed Stitch Cap. I can't wait to see what she STARTS in the Knitting Bag I gave her today!

Oh! Yeah! I forget to tell Ya'll....Today we Celebrated Mine and Gina's January Birthdays!

SusanB translated and figured out how I'm suppose to get a Square Sleeve into a Round Hole! I'm sorry Ya'll...NoWay am I Going There Again! However, I'm sure Susan will be glad to help if you have a Square to fit in a Round Hole....here's her link...Seduced by Yarn.
Gina helped figure the SquareRound Thingy and looked through her Notes for a Pattern to START a Project to Fill her Birthday Knitting Bag!
I made the Square Sleeve Round to attach to the Rectangle Sweater Body! Sorry Ya'll, You Just Had ToBe There!

Welcome to Wednesday Knitters FourSome 2011 Sweater Challenge on SuKnitWitty!

We are a Tightly KnitGroup of FourGals who knit together on...you guessed it...Wednesdays!

In 2010 it was suggested that we challenge ourselves to Start/Finish and Finish a Sweater in 2011.

Our MasterKnitter SusanB, AKA Sock Wizzardess, is prepared for all Seven of the Things that can make or break a sweater.

Far as I can tell there really or only Three Things...Get Goin'~GetToKnittin'~Get Done!

Baby Bubba's Baby Surprise Sweater made last year for his September 9th Birthday is way too small.
He's got to have a New Blue BigBoy Sweater!

I've decided on this pattern AGAIN!

Here's what I said last September about this pattern....

"Special Issue of Interweave Knits

Knits you can do in a weekend....for me many long weekends.
But, I was sold on this issue as soon as I saw the little boy sweater on the cover.
OMGosh! There's my Grandson Jackson on the cover.
He was two weeks old today.
I'm going to make that sweater in Vanna's Baby Yarn in blue and yellow.
I may start it tomorrow, cast on for 18 mo - 2yrs., knit really fast and have it done by December...2010."

Here's my UPDATE on that bold statement! I AM casting on Tomorrow for 18 month-2years and start knitting really fast and have it done by DECEMBER 2010.....I hope!

I saw this vintage book in an antique shop several months ago while SuKnitWitty was trying to decide to 'Quilt or Not'.

Like Rebecca, 'Quilta'...my Gammill Quilting Machine...Sews a FineSeam, but not while sitting on a cushion. Mmmmm, there's a part of the problem...you see, to sew that fine seam requires Standing and a Shoulder Workout!

For the time being...as SuKnitWitty can't bear to part with Quilta just yet...Quilta will Stay Shrouded...and...

I thought for awhile I was cured of SSS...SecondSockSyndrome, but alas, it struck again even before I could finish the first sock.

Now I have given a whole new meaning to SSS...
It's now F&SSS...

FIRST & SECOND SOCK SYNDROME

I thought perhaps the 9" HiYaHiYa's would be just the thing to fix F&SSS, but as it turned out I've used them for everything, but knitting.

I'm ashamed to say that I actually gave up on the Purple Sock and HidIt Outta Sight for going on 6 months.

I can't believe I did that! You See....

That sounds about right to me since I don't have a Cat!

I have Dogs and they don't need a cat around to make it look like they did it.
Altho, they'd probably like to have one around to blame for what they do!

She had Mittens!

That's the Cat that I have. Altho, she hasn't been Knittin any Mittens, but then neither have I.

Yep, this Cat's a Real McCoy! Made by McCoy Pottery as a String Dispenser. Mine is in the signature Pink Glaze that McCoy made popular in the 1930's and 1940's. The String Cat was also glazed in turquoise, green and light blue.

I really don't use this Kitty as a Caddy! It won't hold a big enough ball of yarn for Knitting or Crocheting. However, when string was used to hold packages together it would hold a tightly wrapped ball of string.

I guess McCoy didn't think much of Scotch Tape putting their Cat out to Litter.

So, let's skip the English lesson and get on to the SuKnitWitty Sew-Sow Post...I don't mean it's going to be So-So...or maybe it will as I'm already thinking, "Sue, you are So going to mess this up, but here goes. This is a Sewn Sign about Sowing! So, why am I showing it at this time? Cause it's time to Sow seeds So they can get Water during April Showers for May Flowers.

Yes, I know the flowers on the sign are SewnYoYo's....that's why I skipped the word WEED. Of course, if you are Mr. SKW, the weeding comes before the sowing and will come again when the flowering weeds bloom in May when the Sown Flower Seeds don't....bloom that is!

His idea of flowers and mine are as different as Sew and Sow!

Since it's Bonnet and Basket season, here is a 1930's Sue that was Rescued from an old quilt top.

As part of the Rescue, Sue's Bonnet was dressed up with machine embroidery and lace. Sue lasted many years on the old muslin without a hand to hold her basket. As part of her makeover, she got a basket of posies, a new background with RickRack, YoYo's and Vintage Buttons.
Sue's now a 21st Century Gal sayin, "How do ya like Me now"?

All of the embroidery and quilting was done on my Janome 10000, and the finished small quilt was a Sample for a Machine Quilting and Embroidery Class.

Just last week, I found these NEW Bonnet Girl embroidery patterns.

How is it that Aunt Martha can KeepKrankin them out? She's gotta be gettin up there in years.

Just goes to show that Sittin,Sewin and Embroiderin are good for the Heart!

Ten Steps to The Business of Quilt Salvage

The Business of Quilt Salvage!

Sorry Granny, but somebody had to do it!

From the depths of an old trunk came this tattered, torn, and beyond repair quilt top made by Joe's Granny!

Sue, can you fix it?
NO!!!!
But, I can Salvage It!!!

So, let's get started!

Step One...Press out the wrinkles and cut out the best circular pieces.

Step Two...Cut the circles down to Hexagons.

Step Three...Sew raveled seams back together. Don't worry about the piece not being square.

Step Four... From muslin cut triangles at least one inch larger than the edge of the hexagon.

Step Five...Sew the triangles to Four Corners of the hexagon. Don't worry about petal points or matching corners.

Step Six...Square up the block by triming the triangles.

Step Seven...Sew squared blocks together.
I was able to salvage enough to make 15 blocks for a 3 block by 5 block arrangement.

Step Eight...Add borders. Be sure to measure through the Center with each border.

Step Nine...Quilt...I machine quilted with a Medium Meander stitch. QuiltaLotty did a nice job of catching any fabrics that may be a bit fragile and flower centers that needed an extra stitch for reinforcing.

Step Ten...Sew on the Binding...I stitch to the top using a Walking Foot and then hand stitch it down to the backing.

Sew, there ya go Joe's Granny!

Vintage to Vogue Crocheted Pineapple PinCushion

Victorian To Vogue

The Crocheted Pineapple PinCushion

was a favorite crochet design during the Victorian Era...as seen on the right.

It endured through the 40's and 50's, and today is a highly collectible antique.

Being a Collector of Needlework, I have often admired this Vintage Crocheted Pincushion for a number of reasons:
1 It's Victorian
2 It's Crocheted with a TinyHook and ThinThread
3 It's useful as a Pincushion
4 The RIBBON

How did they do that Ribbon? It has been a MYSTERY to me.....until now......sorta! I'll get back to that in a few...

As I mentioned in the Post Below, I found the pattern for the Pineapple Heart and showed my first attempt with the TinyHook and Thin Thread. Getting through the first one was a study in concentration on Triple Crocheted Shells and Chain 8s! Then the pattern wanted me to MAKE TWO just alike.
That didn't happen.

That's right!!! I SuRuled the pattern!

~Crocheted ONE Pineapple.
~Sewed the Heart shaped Lining with a 21st Century 'Vogue' fabric.
~ Hand sewed the crocheted pineapple to the stuffed heart.
~Hand sewed the lace and ribbon around the heart back. The back must look pretty, too! Even tho I said I wasn't gonna turn it over.
~Rather than Satin Ribbon that was used in the 19th and 20th Centuries, I selected a Modern PolkaDot Grossgrain Ribbon.

How'd they do that RIBBON weave Thingy?

Well, it ain't easy! I read and re-read the instructions! I tried and re-tried and re-tried!
Finally, I turned the heart from working on the outside edge to working the ribbon from the inside!
There YaGo SKW! You are a 'Backwards Doer'!
The first time was a pure accident...then it was "How'd I do that"?
One of the SuRules is that it must be useful! Well, could you Stick this Beautiful Heart full of sewing and quilting pins? Nope, not gonna happen! So, I will use it to display another kind of PIN!

The 'Grape Cluster' Brooch belonged to my Dear Mother-In-Law Ruth. I wear it on special occasions like the birth of Her Great-Grandson!

Am I going to be 'OverDoSue' on Crocheted Pineapple Hearts?
Yep! So far there's a PINK one DONE and several others as WIP's.
And of course I now have all the TinyHooks and ThinThreads known to 21st Century Victorian WannaBee's.

Purple Pineapple??? Sure!!! Why Not???
Afterall, It Is ONE of SKW's Favorite colors!

Of course I don't plan on eating this one. Not after all the work with the itty bitty size 7 crochet hook, the thin strand of crochet thread, and micro mini shell stitches.

And...I'm So Pumped!!! The last time I used these MicroMediums was in Mrs. Brownings HomeEc Class in 1964. It was my first attempt at crochet and the intended doilly ended up as a Bar Tenders Jigger Cover. I didn't know a thing about Jiggers, but I sure wanted to make one of those fancy ruffled doillies that were starched stiff enough to use as a serving tray.

No matter how many times I started over, I could not get the tension right for anything that resembled 'Flat'! Mrs. Browning put me back on the sewing machine where the tension was permanently set!

Forever, I have seen these Vintage Crocheted Pineapple Heart Pin Cushions and always wanted one. Anytime I found one, my first thought was "I can make one of those", and leave it for someone who was willing to pay and couldn't crochet.

You see, I did learn to crochet.

Yep, when the size J Hook and Yarn made it's Crochet Debut, I was a crocheting fool. I made everyone in my family a Varigated Poncho with Fringe to the WhaZoo and Granny Square Afghans out the WhaZoo!

I only recently overcame my fear of the ThinThread TinyHook TensionItis! While browsing in an antique shop, I came across a stack of Crochet Booklets full of TTTH patterns.

Star Book No.121...Crochet Suggestions for
Fairs and Bazaars published by The American Thread Co. in the 1950's and sold for 10 cents.

You guessed it! I bought it! Not for 10 cents....I wish!
And the ONE thing that I bought it for.....
The Pineapple Pincushion!!

According to the Pattern, I'm half way finished with the crocheting. It calls for TWO of the pineapple hearts. One for the Front and one for the Back. I'm like...who's gonna turn it over? Not me! So, I'm thinking it's time for a SueRule change to the pattern.

PS...I'll get back to ya on the rule change and pattern re-write! BTW, after this many years...the pattern is considered public domain, so I don't have to get Mrs. Brownings permission to adjust the Tension!

It has been called "Water of the Sea", because of its color.

It is also said the aquamarine will pick up spirits. It is an excellent stone to use for meditating.

CowGirls CanCook was well received on Pink Saturday, and several wanted to know the Pattern and Fabric.

Mostly, the Pinkies were surprised that I could DO something other than Collect Aprons.

They were, however, very supportive of my ApronAholic condition and encouraged me to get on with StepTwo!

StepOne of StepTwo....The Pattern....I used to love going to the Fabric Store to sit and browse through the Simplicity Pattern Books....that was when patterns were $1 or $2 at the most and the $2 was for a Vogue pattern.

I've been in 'PatternPriceShock' for along time now, and have resorted to the art of scrounging the Thrift and Antique Shops for used patterns. And sometimes they 'Ain't Cheap' either....depending on how old they are. Yep, it's another Collection! Simplicty Apron Pattern #2492 can be found online HERE...view at your own Risk for PPS...and it's discounted from the Regular Shocking Price. Or, you can go to WalMart for a better discount. Or, do what I did....caught Hancocks $1 PatternSale....Now That's What I'm Talkin About!

StepTwo of StepTwo...RoundUp Yore Stuff. Found this Pefectly Pink Cowgirl fabric at the Wool N Cotton Shop. We've been there before on SKW and CIT if you'd like to re-visit. The cowgirl fabric is by MODA and is called 'Rawhide'. The other Stuff includes RickRack, wide Bias Tape, Piping and Buttons. I made Concho look by layering two buttons and attaching with perle cotton thread. Cute huh?

StepThree of StepTwo...Start Sewin. Now, with a fabric called 'Rawhide', I figured I might better line the straps and part way down the front!
Ya never know when you might wanna have a 'Surprise CandleLit Dinner' with your HiHoney in nothin but 'YoreApron'.

StepFour of StepTwo...Finishing Touches. Concho Buttons and nice long Ties for the Bow that covers 'Yore Booty'....I made mine longer than the pattern. I have a longer Booty to cover...not that I'd be turnin around for HiHoney to see my Bow!

Bonnet Girls and Wedding Rings

Pieced and Quilted by SuKnitWitty

The Bonnet Girls are 1930's Embroidered TeaTowel Designs and the Wedding Rings are 1930's Double Wedding Ring Pieces sewn together and cut into squares. The Wedding Ring pieces were found at an Antique shop and are original 1930's fabrics as are the Bonnet Girls.

The Quilt is pictured in the center of the Mosaic and is 34 inches square.

Vintage Thingie Thursday...Vintage Quilt Tops...Let's QuiltEm'

Being in the Machine Quilting Business has given me many opportunities to deal with Vintage Quilt Tops and their owners, who often have their grandmothers tops or they have purchased them at estate sales and antique shops. There are many of us who love the 1930's to 1960's quilts and fabrics, and some of us who specialize in making them a finished quilt.

So, if you have a Vintage Quilt Top and are wondering how it should be finished or if it should be finished, here are a few guidelines to consider.

1...Are the fabrics in good enough condition that they can be gently tugged on without tearing. Many old tops that have been stored in cedar chests or plastic will rot and stain due to the chemicals released by the wood and polyurethane.

2...Are the fabrics mostly cotton. Many old tops will have a variety of fabrics besides cotton...ie..silk, linen, denim, etc. that have a tendency to ravel away at the seam or deteriorate from age or strong dye processes. Red, black and indigo are the ones to watch for rot and dye run.

3...Are the seams and stitching secure enough for mounting on the machine. Gentle tugging without coming apart, and the top lays relatively flat. Piecing that has puckers and puffs will result in overlaps and tucks.

4...Does the quality of the Piecing (craftsmanship) and the Pattern...ie..Applique or Intricate Piecing Design vs Scrap Pattern...merit HandQuilting vs Machine Quilting.

5...Does the top merit the expense of finishing either for sentimental or other reasons, and what kind of use is planned for the top once it is quilted.

Many Vintage Tops loose value when they are machine quilted. This depends on meeting the 1-5 criteria and the historical significance of the top. Let's say for the purpose of getting on with the Machine Quilting that your Top is much like the 1930's String Quilt pictured here. It meets the requirements for Machine Quilting. It was purchased at an estate sale, is hand pieced in a very scrappy string pattern, is relatively flat and square. It's ready to be Machine Quilted.

Here's a Clothes Line of a few of Vintage Tops that have been machine quilted. The Two Flower Garden Quilts started out as One Top and the Star Quilt was individual blocks that I put together with recycled feedsacks. The next quilt was pieced with useable leftovers. The last quilt was a full size double wedding ring top that I cut in half and made two smaller quilts.

The February Floral Block of the Month is the second block in the 'Calendar Quilt'. I made it in 2005 using Dakota Collectible's embroidery collection of 'Flowers of the Month'. The fabric is from the collection designed by the late Doreen Speckmann. She was a Quilter, Quilt Designer, Teacher and fabric designer for Clothworks.

The Calendar Quilt hangs in my Quilt Studio above the bed.

You are probably wondering who SKW is, and why is CollectInTexas Gals Picture sitting over on the SideBar.

Your first reaction might be that I have a 'SplitPersonality' Issue.

Or perhaps I'm a Twin whose Mama couldn't decide on two 'S' names so she named us 'Sue N Sue'.

There's even the possibility that I have SewMuchStuff that One Blog wouldn't Hold it All!

First Meme Outting!

So without further AhDo, here's SKW's Collection of Minature Sewing Machines and
Other Vintage Sewing Items!

They are displayed in my Sewing Room as seen in the picture above.

The Vintage Crocheted Doily serves as a perfect backdrop for this
Collection of Minature Vintage Sewing Machine Teapots and other Sewing Treasures.

All the Teapots have lids and several are boxes that open.

The Two White Machines are Salt and Pepper Shakers and are quite old.

The Lady Thread Caddy is an early plastic product patterned after the Victorian Period. The Lady Lifts off to reveal a pin storage niche.

The Spool Girl is a ceramic figurine...maker unknown, and the
Singer Recuerdo is constructed of lightweight tin with very acurate detailing on the cabinet and the tiny machine.

The Oldest Sewing Item in the collection is the SunBonnet Sue Needle Holder.

It flips open at the top of the hat where it is stitched in yellow thread.

It is made from felted wool and has some deteriation as wool will do over time.

The other little Sue is a Lapel Pin made from 1930's Fabrics.

This 'Old Dog', as HiTekie as I am, has a hard time with "If It Ain't Broke...Don't Fix It".
So, when Blogger came out with the 'New Editor', I said "Nope, I'm good with the 'Old Editor'.

Now, just out of curiosity, I did check it out....right through...

How to enable the new editor...To enable the new editor, first navigate to your blog's Settings ....

To me, that was a WARNING...kinda like what Mama used say about her old Singer...
DO NOT TOUCH the Tension Dial Setting!
So, I Sure DidNot Touch IT for fear the Tension Police would come Take Away my Sewing Machine!

Now, I'm also a firm believer in "Necessity Is The Mother of Invention"!

When you are a 'Seat of YourPants Flyer', like SKW, you're always Inventin! Or at least Needin An Invention!

Well, 'Old Editor' wasn't Broke, but it was Old and OuttaDate and would not let me 'Mess' with Picture Sizing even in the HTML where I flew right into a seat full of 'Real ScaryStuff'. I backed outta there pretty pronto....I could feel the 'BloggerPolice' breathin down the back of my neck!

Why is it so hard to ask for HELP! I think I'm 'SuchAKnowItAll'...could that be why?

Well, anyway, I did ask Blogger Help, "How do I make pictures 'Embigger"?

They were really nice and didn't say, "Well, if you weren't 'SuchAKnowItAll", a 'Reluctant BlogChanger', and had read past the first sentence of the 'New Editor' you would know that the New Editor has an XLarge Picture selection". And that's not ALL, ya'll! There's lots of really cool stuff and you don't have to 'Mess' with the HTML and worry about the 'BloggerPolice".

I Miss Letter Writing...Dear PomPom,

I once had an English Teacher who taught letter writing. It was her intention that Girls Raised In Texas should know the proper form and etiquette of letter writing. So, this GRIT practiced handwriting...mostly my name as Mrs.____________ or Sue _________(current beaus last name). I painstakingly wrote in my finest cursive, on ruled notebook paper...it was to be graded and had to have the proper heading etc.etc...,and with a Thesarus and Websters close at hand. By now, you know about my Texas Grammar and SpellinSkills, so I won't go into that.

Anyway, Mrs. Henderson, my English Teacher, was a big influence for the rest of my life on the subject of 'Letter Writing'. I really loved writing letters with a nice pen that had a fine point, like the ones that you stuck into a bottle of ink and lifted the latch on the pen to suck up the ink into the handle of the pen. You know the ones...Script...I think was one brand. I was really taken with them when they invented Ink Cartridges. With those you just poked the cartridge into the pointy thing above the pen tip and screwed the handle back on, and you were good to go. Did I mention the drips and permanent ink stains. If you used those pens, well you know about the ink stains.
You know, I miss those pens. I miss letter writing. I miss pretty stationary.

Well, I guess I'll get a 'B+' if I'm lucky. The Cursive is PERFECT (how'd I do that?), no ink splots, I think I spelled everything right, the form is correct, but the insert will keep me from getting an A+.

I guess that's what I get for trying to fool Hewlett~Packard and Windows7 with a HandWritten Letter. (Ahaa! Win7 has the prettiest Handwriting Fonts)(I still like to practice my own tho) ~:)

PS...Click on the letter to Enbiggen. Is that a word? I couldn't fool HP and Blogger into making the letter any larger...I know there's a way! I'll think on it!

My how Sewing Rooms have changed!
For one thing there's only One of Me making a Mess in my New Sewing Room!
And another thing, I don't get all that dressed up to Sew!
And one more thing, I mostly use a Rotary Cutter and occasionally Scissors, but I sure don't cut with either one in Mid-Air!
And for sure, I don't have a Serving Girl bringing Tea and Cookies!

Sew, I've been the 'DomesticSewinDiva' since the last post where my New Sewing Room was all neat and tidy!

TaDa!!! I made a MESS!!! Without Sewin A Stitch!!!
Yep, somethings are definately different in Sewing Rooms in the 21st Century!
Why if those Gals in the 19th Century or even the early 20th Century had what I have that gets the job done without SewinAStitch,
we probably wouldn't even have all the Fancy Sewin Machines we have today.
The GlueGun would have revolutionized Victorian Embellishments, and boy did they love to Embellish!

Some say I'm a pretty good 'Embellisher', too! Course, it depends on who you're talking to as to what I'm good at Embellishing!
My Friends 'Permilia and Barbs' would tell you it

I think it was about the 5th grade when I got the DELUXE Box with a Thousand Colors, a sharpener built into the back and 75 of those crayons were Shades of Purple!

So, you have recovered from the First TourDeStudio and SKW's ShockingFabricStash!
I put the curtains down as soon as you left the other day, so just pretend it's not there and I think you'll be fine.
Let's continue with the Tour, shall we?

Here on the other side of the Studio is 'QuiltALotty' or 'Quilta' for short!
She and I have been together for about 15 years, and she has had a few UpGrades and MakeOvers.
So she's used to my Switchin Things Around, and adapts pretty well to change.

Quilta is a Gammill LongArm Quilting Machine and is my second one. Since I've had her, Gammill has kept up with tecnology and the newer models are 'Computer Compatable' and have 'Digital Stitch Regulators' and some other Bells and Whistles that Quilta and I will do without. As much as I like all the new technology in the Sewing and Quilting World, I'm pretty much 'OldQuiltaSchool' and like the creative freedom of Manual Operation.

In every Studio or Shop, the WorkerBee must have a 'WorkSpace' in which ToBEE! To the right of Quilta and left of the SitSleepNKnittin area is just such a space! Looks pretty neat and organized right now, huh?
That's cause I just finished the MakeOver and haven't had a chance to have a MessOver yet!

That's about it for the this part of the MakeOver. We still have the SewinRoom which has moved from Here to There. I'll show you There a little later. Right now, how about some Detail Shots of Here...where There are some Little Books with Big Knittin Ideas and Witty Words!

Close by the Books is this Basket of YARN...I'm easily inspired to start 'Another Project'. Thank goodness the Knittin Needles are close at hand.

Wednesday Knit Trio Breaks In the MadeOver Studio

The Wednesday Trio met in the 'MadeOver' Studio Wednesday afternoon, and I'm so glad they came before I had time to
'Trash It' with the start of a new project!
It's always a pleasure to start a new project in a neat and orderly space.
And it's just as much a pleasure to be able to walk out and close the door on a the mess made with the project in progress!

Gina is following 'The NewYear Plan' and finishing a UFO started in 2009!
SusanB-Knits is also stickin to the Plan and working on a pair of socks started last year!
Aren't they good knitters for StickinToResolutes?
I'm doin Turkey Work...or is it Turkey Trots?
It's on the 'NotStartin AnotherThing' project...so much for SKW StickinToIt!

Here's a closeup look at Turkey Work.
It's the white loopy thingy's that will make the fur on Santa's Hat!
How that got the name Turkey Work is a mystery to me, but both Gina and Susan are NeedlePoint Goddess' and that's what they said the stitch was called.
Far as I can tell, the only Turkey at the Table is the one doin the TurkeyWork!
I do NeedlePoint much like I write...by the seat of my pants!
And when your working with pointy thingys, sometimes you get stuck...in the pants

When giving a Knitted Gift of clothing, there are certain 'Rights' that come into play....

~Is it the 'Right' Color...I'm soooo into the right colors of yarn in a limited sort of way...it's gotta be in the STASH. I'm NOT buying anymore in 2010 until I've used what I bought, borrowed and begged for in 2009!

~Is it the 'Right' Yarn...worsted weight vs sport weight...100% wool vs wool blend...scratchy vs soft and smooth...for headband or sweater. It's just too hard to decide, so to the 'ScrapBag and Grab'!

~Is it the 'Right' Pattern...Cardigan or Pullover...Headband or Hat...In the Pattern Stash or Search Ravelry. This one's a bit easier...already searched Ravelry and printed out FREE FAVS. Perused magazines and books from Stash and DogEarred FAVS.
Now where did I put them?

~Is it the 'Right' Size. Now this is where SKW has BigTime Worries! To Gauge or NotTo Gauge...Straights or Circulars...DPNs or Seams. Okay, one little Swatch and a consultation with SusanB-Knits!

By SKW who had made so many her hands were all Cramped
And her Shoulder was beyond Repair!

As I mentioned in 'Christmas Tree You Skinny Christmas Tree' Post,
many of my Christmas Decorations are Crocheted and HandDone Honey.

The Great Christmas Crochet Book from the American School of Needlework, was the source for the stocking pattern and many other Christmas decorations I've crocheted since 1981.

Yep, I've Crocheted, Quilted, Embroidered, Knitted and Recycled my way to HandMade Stocking Heaven!
Mr. SKW was the recipent of the 'Recycled Stocking' one year when his 'HoleyFAVJeans' didn't make it back to his closet for one more wearing!
They were 'WornOut'!

The Crocheted with Yarn Stockings were titled "Giant Stocking"...so of course that was an attention grabber for SKW, who even back then 'OverDoed'.

Besides, the bigger the Stocking....

'It's all about Stocking Stuffers'...right?

Never did get to the CuteClown!
You'd think that after making a Zillion Stockings I wouldn't need the pattern anymore, but everytime I grabbed the Christmas Colored Yarn and a size J Hook, 'The Book' automatically flipped open to......
You got it....'The Stocking Pattern'.

PS...Dear Santa...Feel free to sit by the fire and warm your Tootsies before Stuffing the Stockings. You can wear any of them you like, and while you are resting you can knit on 'The Socks'. I'll leave them out there in the nest....a couple of rows would be appreciated! BTW, they are purple...not red and green!

How Quickly the Burnt Orange yarn went through the Bond...much like the Field Goal that won the game!

It's a Quilted Christmas on SuKnitWitty!
And Guess What?
It's been that way for Years and Years and Years!

As I was DoinTheDecorating last Eve, Mr.SKW asked,
"Aren't Knitters suppose to have Knitted Ornaments etc.?"

I stood him beside the chimney, put my finger aside my nose
Blinked twice and up the chimney he arose!

That'll teach him! HoHoHo!!!

Just as I was hanging HIS hand crocheted Stocking he slipped in the back door, dusted off the chimney gunk, and returned to the recliner!
"I guess Crochet is Close to Knitted, huh Honey?"

"Yep", says Mrs. SKW..."Thought you might come to that conclusion".

The Stockings were made many years ago when I was new to crocheting with yarn!
EVERY Relative got one for Christmas that year!
Do you know how many combinations of Red, Green and White there are?
About Twenty...Thank goodness for Varigated Christmas Yarn and size J Crochet Hook!

By February I was able to straighten out the fingers on my right hand and fling the sling immobilizing my left shoulder!

Yes, Crochet is close to Knitted Christmas Stuff!

I guess I'd have to say I'm a 'Trendy Tree Trimmer'!
When the Trend was 'Everything Your Child Ever Made', our tree was trimmed with paper airplanes, construction paper garland and paint by number ornaments.
Gave all that to Son and DIL a few years ago...now they can save it Forever!
Then there was the Texas Tree with collected Cowboy Santas, State Shape, Bluebonnet and every known Chili and Armadillo ornament in Texas.
And, of course a Cowboy Hat on Top with the rest of the tree shrouded in Stripped Raffia and Red Bandanas.
Son and DIL inherited that stuff, too, and now they get to clean up all that straw!

And here's my 'Dream Tree' with Crochet Snowflakes and Angels, Victorian Beaded Ornaments, Delicate Handblown Ornaments, and all things Breakable and Beautiful!
I love it especially since it's Fake, Pre-Lit, Skinny, and fits in the closet. Course I do take off the Breakable Beauty's and carefully pack them away.

Wow! How Time Flies When Your Having Fun As A Nana!
Seems like yesterday that I finished knitting the Baby Surprise Jacket.
I started it in March in a BSJ Class...I knew I was going to be a Nana in September.
And I knew the baby was a BOY!
SusanB-Knits made the Cap and Socks to match!

She's on a 'Perfect or Pick It Out Quest' with this Perfectly Coordinated Layette.

Then There's the Ultimate Lucky KnitWit!

That'd be SuKnitWitty, the Wednesday Trio Knitter who is Lucky to have
TWO Friends to Knit with on Wednesdays.
There is nothing that does a knitter's heart more good than
finding friends who knit.
There is little that is more fun than sitting with someone who cares about you, laughs at your jokes and truly wants to have a
two-hour conversation on the aspects of having
'Second Sock Syndrome'.

Speaking of SSS, I think a 'Cure' may be close at 'HiyaHiya Hand'.
As you can see, the 'SufferingSock' has been removed from the 'VoodoDPN's'
and now reside on the 9" HiyaHiya Circular Needles.
AND...THE SECOND SOCK has a cuff and over an inch of ankle length
knitted on the Second HiyaHiya Circulars.
I am so optimistic about this SSS Cure that
I've embarked on 'Another Pair'....

....of Fingerless Gloves! Yep, and the first one is nearly finished...that's the one with the VoodoDPN's on the thumb!
The SECOND one is on #3 straights with just the thumb opening and hand left to knit! Yahoo!!! I'm so happy to not be struck down with SGS...
SecondGloveSyndrome.

With SSS pretty much conquered and the threat of SGS pretty much outta the picture, I'm Inspired by my Knitting Friends, Gina and Susan,
to 'Go Where SuKnitWitty Dared Not Go Before'.
That'd be Charts and Cables! And it's FINISHED!
This 'Cable and Bobble Headband' from Interweave Knits Holiday Gifts
was knitted in an afternoon! Really!!!
Thank the Knitting Goddess that ONE Headband covered BOTH ears!

Have you ever wondered about the Halloween slogan 'Trick or Treat'? Is it a question or a statement? Why would anybody ask to be Tricked when they are obviously looking for a Treat? I really think the Halloween Slogan Gurus just got their T's backwards. 'Treat or Trick' works...or...'Treats or Treats' works even better. Whatever! I'm Treat-N-Myself to some Knittin Stuff like...

This is what I call a Treat! Although, it does have it's share of TRICKS...for knitting up some fabulous Christmas gifts. There's Hats, Scarves, Sweaters, Gloves, Mitts and Socks and Socks and Socks. Yep, there's the SSS again...SecondSockSyndrome.

The Knitting Wizzardess...SusanB-Knits...discovered these NiftyNeedles for knitting socks and gloves. So, I'm thinkin, two points outta be a whole lot better than 4-5 Double Pointed Needles which adds up to 8-10 points and a SockInProgress that looks like a Voodoo Thingy. So, if one HiyaHiya Circular Socker works, then Two HiyaHiya's just might be the cure for my SSS. Yep, I could knit the cuff on one, then knit the cuff on two, then back to one for the heel flap, then over to two for....get the picture? I'm pretty pumped about this Second Sock Solution. If it doesn't work out, I'm surely headed for SecondSockSyndrome ReHab and a drawer full of SingleSocks.

'Sheep Happened' at SuKnitWitty's 45th Reunion.
Yep, once your Hooked on Knitting, it PopsUp everywhere you go.
These KeyRingSheep were part of the Chamber Packet given to the 65'ers.
I even talked a little Knitting and Crocheting with classmates.
Glenda told me about a KnitShop in Lancaster, Texas, and said she was going to take Knitting Classes.
DeAnn's daughter is a Crochet Designer, so we talked about that and some of the patterns she has designed.

Now that the Reunion is over, I can get back to Knitting! Pretty Knits by Susan Cropper, who owns the knit shop 'Loop In London', was a gift from Susan-B. The Wednesday Knit Trio met briefly last Wednesday, and Susan, Gina and I talked knitting, had a dessert dish prepared by 'Julia'Susan and reviewed several Knitting magazines and books...including this one.

'Anisette' Wrap is the very first pattern I want to make from 'Pretty Knits. Gina gave me the perfect yarn several months ago. I can't wait to start...really should finish the sweater first, and probably the 'Sock' and for sure the scarf. We'll see!

And, just so I don't run out of Knitting WannaDo's, here's two more! Thanks Susan-B for this book of 'Pretty Knits', and Thanks Gina for the gorgeous yarn for the Shawl.
