Wednesday Knit with SusanB, Gina, Gretchen and Me....SuKnitWitty!

I'm so glad Knitting, SusanB, Gina, Gretchen and You are a Part of My Life!
Properly practiced, knitting soothes the troubled spirit, and it doesn't hurt the untroubled spirit, either.
Elizabeth Zimmerman

This weeks '2011 Sweater Challenge' post is 'All About SusanB's Sweater!
And Boy Howdy it's A Challenge!!!!

"Heirloom" is knitting code for "This pattern is so difficult that you would consider death a relief."
Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much

Subsititue 'This Sweater' for 'Heirloom' and you have my quote for Susan's Pattern!
However, for SusanB, who not only has Challenged herself to Knit this Sweater in 2011, but also to complete Level One of the Master Knitter Program, this Patton Pattern is just Practice.

Really, all you need to become a good knitter are wool, needles, hands, and slightly below-average intelligence.
Of course, superior intelligence, such as yours and mine, is an advantage.
Elizabeth Zimmerman
Master Knitter

I was good with Elizabeth's first sentence of the quote.  I probably won't be getting a Master Knitter Thingy!
SusanB is already a Master Knitter....in my book.
She's an excellent Teacher....I mean...afterall she taught me to knit Socks....I mean Sock.
Today she demonstrated 'How to Cable Without a Cable Hook'.
Good thing I got it on Camera!

Have I mentioned that Susan is a Masterful Cook and Tea Connoissuer?
Well, she is, and the Hostess with the Mostest with Double Berry Maple Crumbler and Scottish Tea!
I think it was called Scottish...might have been Irish...for sure it wasn't Texas!

The Wednesday FourSome Gets Goin' and Gets To Knittin'

Welcome to Wednesday Knitters FourSome 2011 Sweater Challenge on SuKnitWitty!

We are a Tightly KnitGroup of FourGals who knit together on...you guessed it...Wednesdays!

In 2010 it was suggested that we challenge ourselves to Start/Finish and Finish a Sweater in 2011.

Our MasterKnitter SusanB, AKA Sock Wizzardess, is prepared for all Seven of the Things that can make or break a sweater.

Far as I can tell there really or only Three Things...Get Goin'~GetToKnittin'~Get Done!

So Susan and Gretchen 'Get Goin' with the Measuring and Figuring!

SuKnitWitty...that's me (just in case you've forgotten...since it's been MONTHS since I've posted)
...well, I'm going to FINISH this Sweater I started in 2009.
New Knits...Old Knits...Treasures X2 was the post where I STARTED on it the FIRST Time.

Gina is such a Good SelfStarter!  Here's Her Sweater Challenge!
I love this Sweater!  She thinks it will take All the Wednesdays of 2011 and More to FINISH!

That may be, but she will FINISH a couple of dozen other projects inbetween!

Break for Cheesecake while Gretchen lays out her yarn and starts a Swatch!

Now here's where I'm suppose to Report on something' about Stranded.
I'll have to get back with you on that as a Knitting Term...I've been Stranded, but it had to do with running out of gas.

SusanB came up with the 2011 Sweater Challenge to Get Goin' on a Sweater she has had yarn, pattern and plans for
....well, before she moved to Texas.
Today she STARTED....TWICE!

What do you think Ellie?
I bet she STARTS at least Once More!

It's Good to Get Goin' on SuKnitWitty again!

It's Good to Get To Knittin' with SusanB, Gina and Gretchen!

It's good to Get Done!  Ooops!  I mean it WillBe Good to Get Done in 2011!!!

See you Next Wednesday!

Until then....You can find me pretty much every day at my other blog...

The Knitting Room Is Calling....

.....SuKnitWitty...Get In Gear...

Fall is Here, and I'm getting Itchy Fingers to
START A NEW PROJECT!!!

Oh No YOU Don't, SuKnitWitty...says my InnerKnitWit...All those Baskets of UFO's are STILL waiting!

The WIP's & UFO's will just have to wait!
Baby Bubba's Baby Surprise Sweater made last year for his September 9th Birthday is way too small.
He's got to have a New Blue BigBoy Sweater!

I've decided on this pattern AGAIN!

Here's what I said last September about this pattern....

"Special Issue of Interweave Knits

Knits you can do in a weekend....for me many long weekends.
But, I was sold on this issue as soon as I saw the little boy sweater on the cover.
OMGosh! There's my Grandson Jackson on the cover.
He was two weeks old today.
I'm going to make that sweater in Vanna's Baby Yarn in blue and yellow.
I may start it tomorrow, cast on for 18 mo - 2yrs., knit really fast and have it done by December...2010."

Here's my UPDATE on that bold statement!  I AM casting on Tomorrow for 18 month-2years and start knitting really fast and have it done by DECEMBER 2010.....I hope!
