The Tricks and Treats for Knitting!

This is SuKnitWitty's Trick or Treat Bag!
It's the size of a large paper bag like the ones they use to sack your groceries in a the grocery store. It has handles and opens up to hold lots and lots of...

These goodies from the
Wool N Cotton Shop!

Have you ever wondered about the Halloween slogan 'Trick or Treat'? Is it a question or a statement? Why would anybody ask to be Tricked when they are obviously looking for a Treat? I really think the Halloween Slogan Gurus just got their T's backwards. 'Treat or Trick' works...or...'Treats or Treats' works even better. Whatever! I'm Treat-N-Myself to some Knittin Stuff like...

This is what I call a Treat! Although, it does have it's share of TRICKS...for knitting up some fabulous Christmas gifts. There's Hats, Scarves, Sweaters, Gloves, Mitts and Socks and Socks and Socks. Yep, there's the SSS again...SecondSockSyndrome.

The Knitting Wizzardess...SusanB-Knits...discovered these NiftyNeedles for knitting socks and gloves. So, I'm thinkin, two points outta be a whole lot better than 4-5 Double Pointed Needles which adds up to 8-10 points and a SockInProgress that looks like a Voodoo Thingy. So, if one HiyaHiya Circular Socker works, then Two HiyaHiya's just might be the cure for my SSS. Yep, I could knit the cuff on one, then knit the cuff on two, then back to one for the heel flap, then over to two for....get the picture? I'm pretty pumped about this Second Sock Solution. If it doesn't work out, I'm surely headed for SecondSockSyndrome ReHab and a drawer full of SingleSocks.

Tea-rrific Trio and 'Pretty Knits'...SuKnitWitty KnitsAgain!

'Sheep Happened' at SuKnitWitty's 45th Reunion.
Yep, once your Hooked on Knitting, it PopsUp everywhere you go.
These KeyRingSheep were part of the Chamber Packet given to the 65'ers.
I even talked a little Knitting and Crocheting with classmates.
Glenda told me about a KnitShop in Lancaster, Texas, and said she was going to take Knitting Classes.
DeAnn's daughter is a Crochet Designer, so we talked about that and some of the patterns she has designed.

Now that the Reunion is over, I can get back to Knitting! Pretty Knits by Susan Cropper, who owns the knit shop 'Loop In London', was a gift from Susan-B. The Wednesday Knit Trio met briefly last Wednesday, and Susan, Gina and I talked knitting, had a dessert dish prepared by 'Julia'Susan and reviewed several Knitting magazines and books...including this one.

'Anisette' Wrap is the very first pattern I want to make from 'Pretty Knits. Gina gave me the perfect yarn several months ago. I can't wait to start...really should finish the sweater first, and probably the 'Sock' and for sure the scarf. We'll see!

And, just so I don't run out of Knitting WannaDo's, here's two more! Thanks Susan-B for this book of 'Pretty Knits', and Thanks Gina for the gorgeous yarn for the Shawl.
Ya'll are Tea-rrific!

Kudos to Those Three...Weather-WhatToWear & Hair!

Hi, MHS Friends!
We're into the final countdown for the reunion this weekend!
Here's some last minute information for you.
Ben and Lenora Pool are in charge of emergency wrap-up.
Just in case you get lost, need a ride, need directions or just want to chat,
call Ben or Lenora.
Their numbers are: Ben-(210)240-3535 Lenora-(325)234-5960.
We are so excited about the reunion and are looking forward to
seeing all of you this weekend!
If you need anything during these last few days, e-mail me and I'll try to help out in any way that I can.
Please be careful if you're traveling to San Angelo.
See you on Friday!
Sue, Anne and Ben

I want that quilt so badly, I can taste it. Can't wait to see everyone this weekend. Much thanks to you for this website and to all my classmates who have worked so hard to put this reunion together. I see that the weather in San Angelo is suppose to be perfect for the weekend - see you soon.
Edge

Yessssss, SuKnitWitty received this COMMENT from Paul today!!
Three Things about his comment need to be addressed.
1) Thanks to classmates who have put this 45th Reunion together. To Anne, Ben and Sue for their planning, time and diligence in making this 45th Reunion a successful and fun time for everyone.
2) To Paul...Yipeee...You're Free Ticket #3!!! That's right, a comment will get you a FREE Ticket for the Quilt Drawing. #1 and #2 were Charlotte and Ted Purcell!
3) The weather in San Angelo....Perfect for the Weekend!

NOTICE!!!! EMAIL UPDATE FROM ANNE.....

....Should we say something about dressing casual and comfortable??? I'm wearing jeans on Friday night, slacks on Saturday.....I will be thinking if there is something else.....
Maybe a SA weather forecast?

Oh, I do know one more thing. Benny Gresham and wife Sharon will be joining Lynn Money on Sunday morning to do some special gospel music.
(Marshall Clark has been ill and is not coming).

Thanks Paul for the Weather Forecast!
Marshall, we will miss you. Feel Better Soon!!

Also, just in today, Keith Bailey will not make the 45th Reunion due to upcoming Heart Surgery.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you Keith.
We'll see you for the 50th Reunion.

I think Ben put you and Marshall at the top of the list for the Entertainment Committe.
Ya'll might be thinking in terms of the 'Bailey & Clark Duet' or the 'Clark & Bailey' StandUp Comic Guys!

And Now....Concerning Anne's 'It's Casual Thingy'.
I hadn't thought TooooooMuuuuccch About That Til Now...Uh Huh!
So, I did what all good bloggers do and Googled
'What To Wear To Your Class Reunion'.
In a NutShell, here's what Women's Fashion Guide, Cynthia Nellis had to say.
"Worried what the old high school crowd will think?
Alleviate class reunion anxiety by planning ahead: map out pre-event beauty treatments, shop early, get the hairdo down weeks ahead and go the "less is more" route with fashion.
Choose classic, flattering silhouettes in solid colors and let a low-key outfit put the focus on you, not your clothes."

I only have 3 days left!!!! It's about the length it was in 1965....I'll try the BigHairFlip!

OMG, what's happened to my BigHairDo? It won't Rat Up and I don't have any AquaNet and My Flip has Flopped!
What am I gonna do....besides Pull My Hair Out?

I'd better figure out what to wear!

Whew! Got the Hair Issue Solved!
It's a solid color...no brown mixed in with the gray!

Anne said 'Casual'...Ha!...Been there done that! Everybuddy else wore Formals and I looked Ridiculous in my Cowgirl Outfit.
Not this time, No Siree!
This little Black-Beaded-Glittery Number should do the trick!
Forget You, FashionIsta Cynthia.
Girls Raised In Texas don't do Low-Key!
Maybe I SHOULD tone it down a bit and wear this Satin and Lace Diddy.
It is a Solid and I only wore it once 20 years ago at a Wedding.
"Wayne, what'd ya think about this for Saturday night?"
"Sue, It really makes your hair stand out, and it looks good from the front, but don't you think you should be able to zip up the back?"

"Well, maybe I can lose a few pounds before Saturday night.
In the mean time...
I'd better get started on the 'Pre-Event Beauty Treatments'.

Tomorrow I'll do my Manicure and Pedicure.
That Cherry Red Polish will look smashing with my Haaair!

You, know, Honey, I don' know how those Fashion Folks make a living.
Givin all that Hooey BaLooey Advice.
What da ya think?"

"Whatever You Say, Sue".

I bet you will see lots of your 'OleBuddies' in FIVE more days!
That's right '65'ers and Friends, we are on the short end of the Count Down.

So Bring Your Preferred Camera.....

...that'd be either 'Your First Camera...The Brownie' or 'Your MHS Camera...The Brownie StarFlash' or 'Your Instant Gratification Polaroid'....

...or 'Your HP Brownie' like SuKnitWitty's

...or Forget the Camera, Film, Flashblubs, Batteries, ScanDisks, Bag and 'Let Chad DoIt'.
We will have a '1960's PhotoShoot Set-up' for 'Buddy Pictures'.
Picture Package Deals will be available 'OnLine' after the Reunion.

In case you are concerned about not having 'AnyBuddy' to have your picture taken with, the Decorating Committee will have several 'BigName Celebrities' available, and this Guy...

PS...I'm thinking about borrowing my Son's Iphone.
I'm sure it should have a 'TimeTravel Ap'...

October...It's Fall Ya'll

Welcome to October's BirdHouse Quilt Block of the Month!
Are you wonderin why I'm starting a Block of the Month in October?
Hang Around Ya'll....That parts coming!
Let's Talk Punkins!

One day I found two pumpkin seeds.
I planted one and pulled the weeds.
It sprouted roots and a big long vine.
A pumpkin grew; I called it mine.
The pumpkin was quite round and fat.
(I am really quite proud of that)
But there is something, I'll admit
That has me worried just a bit.
I ate the other seed you see.
Now will it grow inside of me?

October is the tenth month of the year in the Gregorian Calendar and one of seven months with 31 days.

Octobers Flower is the Calendula or more commonly known as the Marigold.

Octobers Birthstone is the Opal. The Opal is thought to have the power to predict illness because it responds to heat or more precisely body temperature in the form of fever.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Celebrating 25 Years of Awareness, Education, and Empowerment!

As promised....The Block of the Month Saga...It's like this...I always wanted to do a Themed Block of the Month.
So I joined 'The BirdHouse BOM' in September 2005.
It was suppose to be a SIMPLE Birdhouse Block with just the Gourd hanging from the tree branch...
that's it...that's all.
As you can see, OverDoSue, struck again in the October BOM...and again in
November, December and January.
What about February, March,April, May,
June, July, August, and September?
Oh! They are on my list of 'ToDo's for 2010'.

PS...About the SecondSeed...I'm so relieved since I found...that Pumpkin Seeds only grow in the ground.
